Day 27

6 comments:

  1. Fasting for Yom Kippur today. No writing, no much of anything, but I am reading a book about Tolstoy by the brother of an Anchorage resident. It's called "Give War and Peace A Chance." Worth the purchase just for that title. It's light and short, lots of good quotes from Tolstoy on trying to write the "baggy monster" that became War and Peace, and also just how to live. He made endless self improvement plans and rules for his life, which he was never able to follow. A complete scoundrel. Makes me think back to book by Jay Parini, "The Last Station," about his final dramatic days (made into movie with Helen Mirren).

  2. I meant scoundrel in an affectionate sense.

  3. Endless self improvement lists and plans . . . never able to follow. This quote strikes a familiar chord. Never-the-less, I make those lists and plans.
    Andromeda, have an easy fast.

  4. Lots of time spent writing and thinking about writing. Produced a decent draft of a new poem and revisions of a couple old ones.

  5. 1546 words. Finished the second installment of Frank Herbert's Dune series again. About to crack into some Murakami.
